Schneider Electric Buildings Americas, Inc. seeks a Construction Estimator – General Contracting in Lenexa, KS.
Job Description: Work with project team to develop estimates at multiple phases from design through construction. Estimate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems. Support development of energy and sustainability analysis. Perform site surveys. Perform quantity take-offs per narratives, drawings, and specifications. Obtain budget quotes from vendors and verify proposed scopes. Determine phasing and constructability with the project team. Support the evaluation and selection of subcontractors by bid reviews. Perform job related duties as assigned, including value engineering, design charettes, design review meetings, developing schedule activities and associated logic, duration, and workflow steps. Utilize engineering design software such as Bluebeam Revu to summarize quantities and create estimates. Position eligible for 100% remote work, reporting to management in Lenexa, KS Schneider Electric worksite. 50% domestic travel required for project site visits.
Requirements: Position requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Building Construction, Construction Management, or related field and progressive, post-Bachelor's experience (5 years with Master’s, 7 years with Bachelor’s) in construction cost estimation, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Construction estimating in Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) construction contracting; Estimating for major markets including governmental, military, commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities; Drafting preliminary and conceptual estimates for extensive work scope of all trades; and Using building system knowledge and engineering to inform cost estimation for construction.
