As the senior procurement lead for Community Impact for the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) you will be responsible for developing and implementing the products donations strategy globally to drive Amazon’s community impact strategic goals. The leader will need to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders within and outside GPO to drive the community impact donations strategy and projects.
The role will need to partner with Amazon in the Community (AITC), GPO Program Management Organization, GPO Site Procurement Organization, Public Relations, Public Policy, Legal and WW Sustainability to define a procurement 3 year-strategy, to optimize procurement programs and donations process, policy and tools for the procurement organization worldwide including collaboration with non-profit organizations and partnering with local and global suppliers in initiatives to give donations back to local community and protect the planet.
The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of success in procurement, program management, communication skills, strong attention to detail, process improvement and operational excellence skills, a collaborative work style, and an unparalleled work ethic.
The right candidate is data-driven and comfortable with writing and executing on various types of communications and programs; has demonstrated experience working effectively in a fast-paced, ideally with experience in procurement purposed-led initiatives and under high-pressure entrepreneurial environment with a strong desire to roll up your sleeves; and proven experience managing high impact programs and working effectively across a number of internal stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead procurement projects that drive social and sustainability impact in communities Amazon is present in (Right Now Needs, Disaster Relief, Sustainability Ambassadors)
- Development a governance structure, enable and track procurement community impact and Co2 reduction
- Drive procurement initiatives that support AITC & WW Sustainability goals and objectives
- Leverage the Procurement University to support procurement education in underprivileged areas and for Amazon Future Engineer program
- Lead carbon reduction initiatives employees & suppliers grassroot movement such as tree planting projects towards Amazon Net Zet Carbon initiatives
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainability and social impact are integrated into procurement practices and supplier relationship management
- Integrate sustainability and community impact within standard procurement processes, policy and culture
- Be the point of contact for Amazon In the Community (AITC) when need be to source products & services in support of the NGOs we partner with at Amazon (Disaster Relief)
- Create a procurement culture of inclusion, volunteering, awareness and participation for procurement Amazonians to engage meaningfully in their communities
- Track, report and communicate Procurement For Good initiatives at global level
- Work with PR to ensure correct media coverage and communication
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, social impact, sustainability, communications or similar
- Experience in procurement, non-profit organizations, purpose-led procurement function or similar
- Experience and proficiency in project management
- Basic knowledge of data collection and analysis methods
- Communications skills – written and verbal
- Strong team player and leader with the ability to influence, work cross functionally, build relationships with key stakeholders and thrive in highly collaborative, fast-paced, environments
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and staff
