The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations at the new Steel Service Center, ensuring the efficient management of resources, production, and team members to meet performance goals. This leader will focus on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all operations, including material flow, production schedules, and outbound shipments. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and maintain equipment performance.
- Team Management: Lead and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence. Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, ensure OSHA and environmental compliance, and conduct regular safety audits with corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Performance: Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and safety.
- Steel Sales: Support sales initiatives by collaborating with the sales team to ensure product availability and meet customer needs. Assist in identifying growth opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Customer Service & Quality Control: Ensure high product quality and on-time order fulfillment. Address customer concerns promptly and collaborate with sales for a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing, recycling, or steel service center environment.
- Proven experience in team leadership, safety compliance, and production process optimization.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of best practices for recycling processes, steel products, and inventory management.
- Experience implementing process improvement initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
