We are looking for a dynamic Volunteer Engagement Supervisor who can empower our volunteers and help them create meaningful change within our non-profit organization.
As the Volunteer Program Supervisor, you will lead the implementation of our vibrant volunteer program and supervise a team of Volunteer Coordinators. Collaborating across departments, you will ensure that our volunteers, interns, externs, and fellows receive the support and training they need to thrive. Your role will cover all aspects of the volunteer program—from recruitment and training to fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
Your leadership will strengthen community connections and enhance our impact, ensuring volunteers have a rewarding experience at the Zoo. We’re looking for candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role who have successfully led motivated teams. You will guide your coordinators to provide essential support and training for our volunteers in a fast-paced environment, promoting a culture of learning and growth.

Do you have...
- Three (3) years of experience in Team Management experience in volunteer program management, human resource or a related field?
- Two (2) years of experience in a similar role demonstrating the ability to execute strategies, analyze data, report on performance, and successfully recruit and engage volunteers through community outreach, partnerships with schools and corporations, and online platforms?
- Two (2) years of experience, to manage large-scale group efforts with strong organizational and logistical planning capabilities?

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software?

Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking systems?

Proficient with volunteer management software and data tracking tools?
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to consistently remain on your feet for 6-8 hours on shift.
- Ability to consistently speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and communications.
- Ability to consistently remain on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
- Manual dexterity for standing, reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending crouching, walking, kneeling, stoop, bend, lift, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, dig and prolonged standing.
- Auditory ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, two-way radio, and face-to-face interactions.
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors under all environmental conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to transport and move items up to 50 pounds occasionally, without difficulty.
- Ability to ascend/ descend ladders, steps, and uneven terrain, while maintaining body equilibrium while performing various jobs.
- Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization on foot, including any construction sites.
- Visual and auditory acuity appropriate for safety and discern differences in documents.
- Exceptional visual acuity is required, along with the ability to communicate, comprehend and decipher/hear information accurately, using a two-way radio.
