Accountable for the leadership, development and implementation of an assigned new growth opportunity that will result in the offering of a new strategic product or service, or portfolio of products & services to the market.
This position will interface with Sales and other customer facing roles to earn invitations to participate in customer meetings and take advantage of opportunities to exchange thoughts and ideas directly with Solar customers. This position will structure the implementation strategy and execute successful handoffs to appropriate business development, engineering and other strategy and support groups.
Responsibilities
• Activities related to the analysis of market opportunity, market and customer development, market introduction and initial development and production of the new product or service. This position plays a critical role in establishing the position of the new product/service in the market, including ensuring the acceptance internally and delivering on customer satisfaction.
• This position includes introduction of the product/service to specific markets within a prescribed period of time while achieving identified cost targets and meeting established market requirements.
Degree Requirement
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the energy industry desired
Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
Extensive Experience:
• Builds relationships with internal stakeholders to obtain information related to various functions of the business.
• Provides a solution method to find the nature and extent of technology and process changes that should be made.
Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Extensive Experience:
• Demonstrates a big picture understanding of the business, its interrelationships, and priorities.
• Demonstrates strong foundation of business fundamentals, measurement, and business finance.
• Develops business cases for own function; reviews and critiques cases for other functions..
Alignment: Knowledge of the importance of collaboration among team members and the ability to enroll stakeholders in communicating and coordinating activities to support the organization's vision and strategies.

New Product Development (NPD): Knowledge of methodology, processes, and strategies of new product development; ability to develop an effective new product development (NPD) strategy and process to generate a range of products, services, and value propositions aligned with the organization's overall marketing and business strategy.
Extensive Experience:
• Develops a culture of innovation and continuous improvement concerning new product development.
• Works with the executive members to achieve commitment, enthusiasm, and cross-functional support for new product development.
Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
Extensive Experience:
• Coaches others on the design and implementation of campaigns to present products to new markets.
• Develops strategies to present new business ideas to small and large perspective business partners.
• Analyzes alternative business development approaches and strategies.
• Designs common and industry-specific benchmarks for business development.
Summary Pay Range:
$152,928.00 - $229,392.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
