GENERAL SUMMARY: Receiving (Material Handler/Forklift Operator)
1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in various areas, including Kanban, Shipping, Receiving, and Returns.
- Operate a sit-down forklift efficiently and safely.
- Issue, expedite, and submit orders for fabricated and purchased parts to meet material requirements.
- Follow up on past due orders to ensure customer needs are met.
- Organize work effectively and respond to customer requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper receipt of products, verifying quantities, and processing them expeditiously.
- Maintain attention to detail in all tasks.
- Perform data entry and recordkeeping accurately.
- Operate computer systems for shipping and logistics.
- Participate in general housekeeping (5S) duties within the work area.
- Conduct general preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment as needed.
- Cross-train and rotate through various stations within the department to provide additional support.
- Conduct on-the-job training (OTJ) for newly hired or transferred employees.
- Report material and equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in meetings to address production challenges and collaborate with other shifts and support groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- A valid Driver’s License is required to obtain onsite forklift certification.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Experience in material handling is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with the AMAPS system is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 22 lbs. unassisted and up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shift, as well as perform repetitive lifting motions.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
