Sandbox Solar is one of the fastest growing companies in Northern Colorado. We have ambitious plans, forward-thinking strategies, and a solid future as the leading provider of Solar in Northern Colorado. In fact, we are aiming to be one of the most respected and admired solar companies in the Nation by 2027. That’s pretty ambitious for a company that has been around less than a decade, but we intend to achieve it. We’re flourishing in the industry where others have only tried. You should see what we’ve already accomplished! Check out our work, awards, history, and team at sandboxsolar.com.
Right about now, you could be wondering what’s a Solar company doing advertising for an HVAC Installation Lead! That part in the paragraph above that says we’ve been flourishing where others have only tried is key. What started as residential rooftop installation expanded to ground mounts, commercial projects, agrivoltaics, community solar gardens, EV charging stations, and batteries. And all that has led us to Heat Pumps. As an experienced HVAC professional, you can probably see the tie between some of those. HVAC is new to us, but not to everyone on our team. We recently hired an HVAC Service Manager and plan on expanding the team further. And though HVAC is new to Sandbox Solar, everything we’ve done was new to us not that long ago. We’re used to hitting home runs and expect to again.
As an HVAC Installation Lead, you'll have a unique opportunity to shape the future of our growing HVAC business. You'll be a pioneer in our HVAC/Climate Solutions division, delivering cutting-edge electrification and resilient HVAC installation solutions to our customers.
Our HVAC Installation Lead will…
- Represent Sandbox Solar with professionalism and exceptional customer service we’re known for
- Lead HVAC installation and electrification projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to safety standards and local codes
- Coordinate and schedule installation teams, ensuring efficient workflow and timely project completion
- Train and mentor junior technicians and assistants, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents to ensure correct implementation
- Conduct site assessments and recommend appropriate HVAC solutions tailored to client needs;
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the installation process
- Thoroughly test systems post-installation and provide instruction to the customer on using the new system
- Prepare and submit accurate project documentation, including work orders, installation reports, and service agreements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe environment
- Maintain tools and necessary equipment to ensure seamless project execution.
We are looking for a customer-focused HVAC Installation Lead who:
- Has a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in HVAC Installation with at least 2 years in a lead role
- Understands common practices of electrification and how it relates to solar and HVAC
- Possesses valid HVAC technician license and relevant certifications (NATE, EPA 608 Certification, and OSHA 30)
- Has a strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heat pumps, installation techniques, and local building codes
- Can consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Possesses strong client service skills and the ability to communicate with homeowners
- Has critical thinking skills and the ability to problem-solve effectively
- Is proficient in both teams and installation projects.
This will not be the right opportunity for those who:
- Lack the confidence to be the technical expert in all things HVAC in general and heat pumps specifically
- Expect to merely direct the work of others as opposed to getting their hands dirty as part of a growing team
- Aren’t able to provide influence and leadership with or without formal chain of command
- Can’t tolerate working outdoors in all types of Colorado weather…weird as that can be
- Can’t easily get along well with a team of people creating solutions for homeowners as well as the people living inside the home.
Pay Range: $25-$30/hr depending on experience
We expect to have this job posted until the end of March 2025.
