Identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risk to the mission. Developing and executing USGS Landsat systems engineering processes for Landsat development and sustaining engineering activities, including requirement and operations concept development, architecture and system design, system development, integration and test, and verification and validation. Leading USGS technical involvement in NASA space segment (spacecraft, instruments, and launch vehicle) activities, space to ground interface definition and coordination throughout the development life-cycle. Leading USGS systems engineering team and provide oversight to contract support staff. Ensuring science requirements are captured and implemented to meet user needs. Leading USGS technical pre-formulation activities for future Landsat missions. Maintaining technical architecture of the Landsat ground system across missions.
