JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Biologist, GS- 0401-7/9 working in Randlett, Utah for the R6-Ouray National Fish Hatchery. This exciting position located at the Ouray National Fish Hatchery within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service offers the chance to play a key role in conserving America's fisheries, from rare species like Razorback sucker and Bonytail to supporting habitat restoration, fish production, and outreach efforts with federal, state, tribal, and local partners. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Performs a range of operational tasks at the hatchery, including fish culture, disease control, spawning, egg incubation, treatments, and distribution of fish. Conducting disease examinations, monitoring water quality, analyzing biological data, maintaining records, and assisting with technical and administrative duties related to hatchery management and operations. Conducts routine field experiments using various data-collection systems and extracts and analyzes data from these systems.
