JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the Northeast Regional Office within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS or Service).The incumbent serves as a General Services and Facilities Management Specialist responsible for assisting in the provision of facility, leasing and space management operational support for the Regional Office and other office locations as assigned. MAJOR DUTIES: As a General Services and Facilities Management Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Oversees scheduled and recurring preventative maintenance for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with leasing agreements. Conducts regular and special facility inspections. Ensures adequacy, identifies and reports problems, and recommends solutions to the supervisor and Regional management. Investigates complaints; provides occupants with facilities-related information; and, prepares supporting documentation for annual and periodic reporting. As needed, serves as the primary liaison for all coordination of building security issues with Federal Protective Services and local emergency services; and resolves security personnel issues and ensures adequate guard coverage. Implements assigned property management initiatives and policies including those related to environmental and fire protection and security and emergency coordination.
