JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Acadia National Park, in the Buildings and Utilities Division. The typical seasonal period for this position is May thru October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2025 MAJOR DUTIES: Operate one or more motor vehicles including platform truck, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, specialty pumping equipment, and trash removal trucks up to 35000 GVW; some vehicles may have air brakes. Operate vehicles in heavy congestion on public and nonpublic roads and through multiple campgrounds. Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment. Perform manual labor tasks, such as digging, pulling, cleaning drainage ditches, lifting and emptying trash containers, cleaning rest rooms, picking up litter, cleaning picnic grills, etc. May perform semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance, repair, and janitorial work in and on various unit buildings. For example, minor plumbing repair, touch-up painting, minor carpentry repairs, and janitorial work in public and administrative buildings.
