This position is located in Acadia National Park, in the Facilities Division.
Acadia National Park may appear small on a map, but the park encompasses nearly 50,000 acres along the Atlantic Coastline of Maine - including Mount Desert Island, Schoodic Peninsula, Isle au Haut, and other outer islands. 60 miles of coastline, 33 miles of scenic motor roads, 45 miles of carriage roads, and more than 150 miles of hiking trails provide numerous ways to explore the park.
Summary
This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service.
Duties
- Will perform record reviews and assist in the maintenance of vehicle records.
- Aid and provide technical assistance to plan, coordinate, evaluate and manage for acquisition, operation, maintenance, decommissioning, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
- Responsible for requisitions, receipt, issuance, and control of government issued credit cards for the purchase of fuel, oil, and other services.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files.
- Serves as a point of contact for any Contractor's Officer's Representative related requests for GSA leave vehicles and/or other fleet related contracts.

- Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
- You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- You will be required to complete a one-year trial period.
- Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and meet certain educational requirements.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
- EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service.
- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
Additional information
A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. This announcement may be used to fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90 days of the issue date of the referral certificate.
