The Financial Resource Specialist performs a variety of complex duties and assignments in support of the formulation, allocation, utilization, analysis, and reporting of financial resources necessary to accomplish the mission responsibilities of the state, area and field offices of Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for the Alaska State Office.
This is a time-limited appointment not-to-exceed 3 years with possibility for extension for an additional 2 years upon approval.

Duties
- The Financial Resources Specialist works in the local state office and performs a variety of complex duties and assignments in support of the formulation, allocation, utilization, analysis, and reporting of financial resources.
- Provides support, guidance, and assistance to the State Conservationist (STC) and State Leadership Team (SLT).
- Projecting, planning, allocating, executing fund certification, managing/tracking, and reporting on the financial and technical assistance resources needed to carry out the business of conservation at the state, area and field levels.
- Analyzes financial information to confirm proper execution of funds in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, and as directed by the state.
- Coordinates with National Service Delivery Teams (NSDTs) to identify and resolve questions and errors related to budget allocation, execution, reporting and payments.
- Research and reviews written materials and documentation pertaining to a variety of issues, processes, and programs, in order to obtain thorough understanding of financial resources issues.

- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

- Must possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license for the type of vehicle(s) operated to perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications
