This position serves as a rangeland management specialist assisting in or independently administering an ecosystem based rangeland management program and related resource coordination.

Overview
Duties
- Responsibilities listed are at the full performance grade level.
- Coordinate range and wildlife ecological management with other functional activities in harmony with the concept of multiple use management.
- Inspect rangeland uses for compliance with permits and monitor the results of the rangeland uses that are permitted or allowed.
- Conduct short- and long-term monitoring of plant community change, trends, grazing impacts, precipitation, and/or soil erosion hazards to correlate other rangeland resource activities and uses.
- Determine rangeland readiness for various rangeland uses.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of rangeland projects.
- Maintain continuing liaison with permittee, affected groups and others to ensure compliance with agreed upon plans and desired quality of work.
- Prepare livestock management plans for determining location and proper stocking.
- Prepare rangeland improvement maintenance schedules and/or keep records of existing and proposed improvements, maintenance needs, and/or accomplishments.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
- Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
- Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

This position may be eligible to telework up to four days per week, based upon the duties of the position. This position may also be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
