WSP is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager – Hazardous Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality Consultant, to join our Atlantic Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Team in our Dartmouth, NS office(flexible home office location and hybrid work environment).
The successful candidate will work on projects involving hazardous materials, indoor environmental quality, and industrial hygiene. The EHS Consultant will be involved in a broad range of projects helping to support our Clients’ goals of EHS performance improvement.

ResponsibilitiesAn overview of your role will include:
- Supporting multi-disciplinary EHS projects across a variety of sectors. Specific consulting services provided may include the following depending on the candidates interests and expertise:
- Identification and Management of Hazardous Materials
- Indoor Environmental Quality Assessment Services and Microbial Contamination
- Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Services
- Providing Radon Measurement and/or Mitigation Services and Expertise
- Project Management and Coordination of Hazardous Material / Microbial Contamination Remediation Work
- Written and oral communication both within multi-disciplinary teams and with Clients.
- Project and proposal completion, including (but not limited to) project financial management, schedules, deliverables, and working as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with Clients and sub-consultants/sub-contractors.
- Supporting business development, including developing marketing plans, tools, and initiatives with senior staff members and the broader EHS team.
- Work under the direction of senior staff to complete business plan objectives at the local, regional, and global scale.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours, including some weekends and evenings, as required, to meet project commitments and travel for extended periods of time (1 to 2 weeks at a time).
- Train and mentor junior staff in fieldwork and technical report writing.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsYou will have a background in:
- Health and safety, environmental sciences, or engineering as demonstrated by a post-secondary degree or diploma, and/or demonstrated expertise in EHS consulting (minimum 3 years of experience).
- Architectural Technology Diploma with significant experience with CADD
- Professional designation (EP, AScT, CRSP, CIH, ROH, ROHT, PMP) considered an asset.
- Familiarity with building systems (mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) considered an asset.
- Occupational health and safety and environmental legislation.
- Working knowledge of occupational hygiene practices.
- Organizing and providing support during meetings involving participation from stakeholders and demonstrated experience summarizing and presenting results with an emphasis on written communication.
- Computer skills for data management and manipulation including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
