We are seeking an experienced Principal EHS Consultant with both commercial and technical expertise, committed to driving change in process and behavior, to join our consulting team in Belgium.
This experienced individual will support and expand a network of excellent client relationships serving to deliver Environment, Health & Safety services across the region.
Job description
We are looking for applicants to demonstrate their experience in performing and reporting a variety of Environmental, Health & Safety diagnostics, audits and assessments including:
Provide technical assistance on Environmental, Health & Safety assessment and audits
Develop EHS standards, permits, EIAs, and reports, support in the integration of sustainability projects in the operations of our clients
Engaging all levels of an organization in order to achieve the positive transformation of the Environmental, Health and Safety performance as well as the that of the overall business
Manage multiple projects remaining mindful of the scope, budget and timing expectations
Deliver high quality project deliverables under the supervision and with the support of subject matter experts
Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects
Effectively nurture and build client relationships leading to repeat business
Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees
Build strong collaborative relationships with other stakeholders (regulators)
Coach and mentor junior staff in their tasks
Job requirements
Strong communication skills are essential, including clear, accurate technical writing and the ability to articulate ideas, messages and content simply, clearly and effectively
The capacity to influence is also vital in succeeding in this role
Demonstrating solid judgement, drive and a sense of initiative are also keys of success
Fluency and literacy in, Dutch and English is essential. Business-level proficiency in languages other than English, for example French, will be an advantage. Current health protection restrictions aside, candidates should be keen to travel
BSc/MSc in environment, environmental engineering, safety, science, or related discipline
8+ years of experience in either a consulting environment or working substantially with the industry sector
An understanding of the industry and leading client organizations
Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities
A demonstrable track record in delivering complex projects including delegation and team management
Offering recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace
