DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, your main duty involves executing the compliance and enforcement policies and procedures of the Department related to the Radiation Protection Act, the Radon Certification Act, and associated regulations. You will conduct research on case files and histories, preparing necessary documentation for prosecution by Radiation Protection or legal personnel. Engaging with legal staff, you will discuss enforcement cases and seek clarifications on relevant rules and regulations. You will draft noncompliance letters that detail identified violations, reference applicable rules, outline required corrective actions, and set deadlines. Additionally, you will provide information to the regulated community, municipal officials, consultants, and the public regarding Departmental programs, functions, and regulations related to the Radiation Protection Act and the Radon Certification Act. You will also perform inspections at solid waste facilities and other locations not covered by a Pennsylvania Radioactive Materials License or Registration in response to radiological incidents as assigned. Participation in training sessions, including refresher courses and facility tours on topics relevant to radioactive materials regulation, is required, with a minimum of 24 hours of training completed within a 24-month timeframe. Training documentation will be recorded in the employee's official training transcript, and copies of certificates will be kept in the formal qualification journal.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
