POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will support a small, highly capable, centralized team to manage the Company’s large capital projects. This group is expected to execute projects with safety and environmental/regulatory compliance as first priority. The team is accountable for developing and executing the best possible outcomes regarding cost, schedule and scope to our customers. This position is for an experienced project manager that can lead one or more large scale projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be comfortable to work frequently in the field.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead large capital projects. Projects are often multi-year.
Ensure that all projects are delivered safely and environmentally/regulatory compliant and on-time, within scope and within budget.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects.
Develop comprehensive project plans from inception to completion to be shared with key stakeholders.
Prepare budget and cost estimates, schedules and develop business cases.
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Ensure resource availability and allocation for projects.
Perform risk evaluation to identify and minimize potential risks and track risks throughout project.
Prepare and review contracts and bid packages. Work with legal on contracts. Explain contract and technical matters to others in a clear manner.
Interface with and monitor contractors on project schedule, budget, technical issues.
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Measure and track project performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques, make adjustment as needed, and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare and deliver updates to leadership to report project progress, costs, and risks.
Escalate issues to management in a timely manner and manage delays, emergencies and problems that arise.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to establish project requirements upfront and assess/adjust throughout.
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
Delegate project tasks based on team members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
Up to 50% travel at times depending on project development.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of project management and related experience
Experience leading large construction projects.
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
Strong leadership skills are a must.
Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices. Particularly knowledge of Procore software tool is a plus.
Experience with scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6.
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
Excellent analytical skills, technical skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
Can analyze project options and developing economic cost analysis to aid in selection of most prudent resolution.
Team building and conflict resolution attributes are necessary to pull together and utilize the personnel on a team effective and efficiently.
Customer service skills to listen, speak in a clear and concise manner in contact with people like the public, inspectors and owners so that goals are met.
Time management skills are needed to meet deadlines and multitask.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Financial acumen understanding project costs, Net Present Value, P&L’s, balance sheets, asset retirement obligations, etc.

Standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail, despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen for long period of time. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone.

Must be willing to travel in- and out-of-state periodically as needed.
