Role Summary:
As the Country Head of QSHE, you will lead the national QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment) organization to ensure the delivery of reliable and measurable operational quality for customers. Your primary focus will be implementing and maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with international standards, and fostering continuous improvement. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive QSHE initiatives, support training programs, and oversee audit processes, positioning the organization as a leader in operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Fluency in Japanese and English is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Implement, monitor, and maintain IMS processes and QSHE standards (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) at the national level.
- Develop and track QSHE targets, including customer-specific implementations and organizational solutions.
- Oversee QSHE KPIs, providing regular performance evaluations and insights to support decision-making.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards related to quality, health, safety, and the environment.
- Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking, best practices, and process optimization.
- Lead investigations into QSHE incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal business and functional units to align QSHE practices with organizational goals.
- Act as a liaison with external stakeholders, including customers, certification bodies, and governmental organizations, on QSHE matters.
Audit and Training Management:
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute annual QSHE-related training plans, providing targeted training for the national QSHE team and broader workforce.
Team Development and Leadership:
- Manage and mentor the national QSHE team, fostering skill development and ensuring effective performance management.
- Identify training needs, provide coaching, and facilitate professional growth opportunities for team members.
Business Continuity:
- Manage and coordinate the National Business Continuity Plan, ensuring preparedness and resilience in operational processes.
Decision-Making Authority:
- Responsible for the national QSHE budget and resource allocation.
- Authority to halt unsafe work or operations that compromise safety or security.
- Co-determination in hiring national QSHE staff.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or QSHE-related fields (Masters degree preferred).
- In-depth knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
- Proven track record in implementing and maintaining IMS processes in a global organization.
- Strong leadership experience (58 years) and a history of managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Lean Management, process engineering, and project management methodologies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in Japanese (local language) and English is mandatory.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and innovation.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, managing diverse cultural and functional interfaces.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel (30-40%).
