What’s the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a candidate to serve as the leader of our Data Solutions Group (DSG). The DSG consists of 10 highly-motivated junior, mid-level, and senior-level staff that serve the role of providing end-to-end data services for our full portfolio of projects and clients. These services include: development and deployment of field data collection applications; management and automation of data inputs (field collection, real-time data from in situ sensors, and commercial laboratory data packages); data quality review; reporting of data according to regulatory agency standards; and developing innovative ways to interact with, and interpret data through customized dashboards, visualizations, analytics, and data access portals. The DSG also plays a key role in the development of new data services, including applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence, for Anchor QEA.
Responsibilities:
The DSG Lead position will be responsible for leadership and management of the DSG. The position will provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the group, including the following:
- Managing staff
- Ensuring efficient workflow and quality control of data for successful project delivery (in collaboration with our project managers)
- Oversight of the management and maintenance of the specialized hardware and software systems used by the group (in collaboration with our IT department)
- Involvement with and oversight of research and development activities for innovating new approaches to data services
- Contributing to business development through identifying opportunities to expand service offerings for projects (in collaboration with our Market Sector Leads)
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- B.S. or higher in environmental science, data science, engineering, or related field (M.S. or higher preferred)
- 10+ years of experience managing data and databases and associated hardware/software systems in the environmental (ideally consulting) field
- Experience managing staff and leading teams
- Experience managing projects and with project execution/delivery
- Experience working on contaminated sites and familiarity with common environmental contaminants
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to convey complex subject matter to diverse audiences that may include clients, regulatory agencies, and public stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with quality assurance practices
- Business skills, including strategic decision-making and risk management
- Advanced knowledge of EarthSoft EQuIS Enterprise, one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, VB.NET, Python, and R); familiarity with applications development project management, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Experience with research and development projects and innovations within the data services field
- Experience with business development, including cost estimation and proposal writing
