POSITION DESCRIPTION: GCCFI MULTIDAY TOUR COORDINATOR
The Grand Canyon Conservancy Field Institute Multiday Tour Coordinator supports education programs and tours at the Grand Cayon, with an emphasis on Multiday and Donor programs. Duties include developing multiday trips, executing operational logistics, articulating program offerings to potential participants, welcoming participants of Field Institute programs, and supporting trip departures and logistics at the Grand Canyon as needed. This is primarily a programmatic support position (75% of work in the office) with occasional work in the field leading programs.
The Multiday and Donor Tours Coordinator is a hybrid, full-time (32-hour per week), non-exempt, benefit-eligible position based within two hours of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The position reports to the GCCFI Program Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties vary with the workload and GCCFI team availability and could include, but are not limited to, the tasks listed below.
Administrative & Logistics Program Support (Multiday trip focus)
• Develop and plan MDT and Donor tours and onsite events in partnership with GCCFI leadership
• Execute logistics, scheduling, and communications for multiday and donor trips to participants, staff, and instructors
• Performs data entry and quarterly reporting of program enrollment
• Coordinate with NPS on MDT trip logistics, including permits and reservations
• Provide customer service for potential FI participants, manage trip reservations, and address customer feedback.
• Assist in scheduling guides, vehicles, housing, and permits for GCCFI trips
• Ensure smooth trip logistics for MDT and donor trips, including participant screenings and required pre and post-trip documentation,
• Inventory tracking, ordering, and restocking of GCCFI supplies, forms, and equipment as necessary
• Reserve vehicles, housing, and office spaces for GCCFI trips and classes
• Coordinate logistics, including meeting space, food and beverage, audio-visual equipment, and printed and digital collateral for GCCFI events and training
• Support GCCFI leadership on MDT and donor trip marketing planning and execution
• Support GCCFI leadership with new program development and partnership programs
• Support GCCFI leadership with budget development and financial management of multiday tripsPrograms
• Provide instruction for day tours as needed
• May assist participants experiencing difficulties in exiting the canyon
• This position will be scheduled to support operational coverage for Field Institute trips, which may include weekends and evenings to ensure proper communication with staff, park entities, guides, and customers.
• The GCCFI Multiday Tour Coordinator will work as required in a secondary position (Backcountry Overnight Guide) at a contracted day rate as required for overnight guided programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• This position contains at least 75% sedentary office work requiring long periods at a desk performing repetitive tasks such as typing and data entry
• This position contains up to 25% fieldwork with short and remote hiking on the rim and into the canyon. Overnight field work will be performed under a secondary position description (Backcountry Overnight Guide) and compensated at a contracted daily rate.
