We are currently looking for a Recycling Driver (CDL A or B) to join our team at our Urbana, IL Facility.
Job Summary
Recycling Drivers for Midwest Fiber dba Balcones Recycling Midwest are responsible for safely operating rear-load trucks while demonstrating core values and practicing good customer service to the municipality.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Completely empty all carts and leave customer location clean and free of debris.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner.
- Complete daily route sheets and maintain route quality standards.
- Maintain a clean interior and exterior truck.
- Operate vehicle in accordance within the Midwest Fiber dba Balcones Recycling Midwest, Safety Rules, DOT (Department of Transportation), OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
- Ensure all Protective equipment is worn at all times (i.e. gloves, safety glasses, work boots, safety vest… ect).
- Attend and complete all training and safety programs.
- Preform pre and post – trip inspections of assigned equipment.
- Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to management.
- Report any unsafe situations or service related issues to management.
- Report all containers that are in need of repair or damaged.
- Communicate with management to improve route production.
Required Skills and Qualifications.
- Ability to repeatedly maneuver in and out of the truck.
- CDL A or CDL B
- Must pass DOT physical and drug testing requirements.
- Must possess a current clear motor vehicle report.
- Must possess a current valid medical card.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time – management skills and multitasking ability
- Considerable knowledge of relevant traffic laws
- Exceptional customer service skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of CDL driving experience
- Strong customer focus
- Highly self-motivation and team orientated.
- Motivation to achieve goals and meet deadlines
- Ability to embrace change with flexibility
- Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
