Shizen Energy Group is a top and rapidly expanding renewable energy developer headquartered in Japan, ranked number 1 in the Forbes Japan 2025 Start-up of the Year Ranking, and a member of J-Startup, a global startup support program operated by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. We create and operate solar, wind, and small hydroelectric power plants in Asia and South America and are actively expanding our EnergyTech activities with the aim of making renewable energy within easy reach for everyone. With the help of our colleagues and partners in Japan and around the world, we take action for the blue planet.
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Technical Asset Manager to oversee the technical aspects of an expanding portfolio of solar and other renewable energy projects domestically. This will be a front-facing role with the successful candidates also expected to be able to communicate well with both internal and external stakeholders in English and Japanese.

Job description
Successful candidate will oversee the operation and management of renewable energy power generation projects.
More specifically, day-to-day duties will include:
- Management: documents, records, inventory, KPI management.
- Long-term operations: examination of trouble-shooting methods, liaison and coordination with maintenance and security contractors.
- Value enhancement: performance and risk management analysis/improvement
- Short-term operations: repair planning, budgeting, business reporting (monthly/annual)
- Contracting: implementation of clauses in operational management contracts, optimisation of insurance/guarantee/commissioning contracts.
- Stakeholder support: reporting to the company and the clients, support and coordination with government authorities (such as municipalities, relevant ministries, power aggregators), etc.
Main sources of energy: solar, small hydro, wind, biomass, with possible involvement with grid storage batteries.

Skills & Experience
Required
- Language proficiency of a level enough to participate in meetings and hold discussions in English & Japanese
- Good cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to work with many internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to competently work with a variety of office suite software
- Any of the following:
- At least 1 year experience in power plant management in an O&M or asset management company
- At least 1 year of operational experience in a power generation company
Welcome
- Experience in business operations and familiarity with the "kaizen" principle (QC)
- Knowledge of electricity/communications/legislation, software and civil engineering as a basis for power plant management is also a plus.
- Class 3 Chief Electricity Engineer (電気主任技術者) license
