JOB SUMMARY: This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southeast Regional Office (SERO), Habitat Conservation Division (HCD) Gulf Branch with one (1) vacancy located in St Petersburg, FL or Baton Rouge, LA. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Fish Biologist, you will perform the following duties: Investigate and evaluate the impacts of human activities and coastal or wetlands developments on marine, estuarine, and anadromous fish habitats to assess environmental impacts to develop, implement, and recommend conservation and mitigation measures. Communicate and coordinate with other Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) offices, and other external partners to ensure accomplishment of Southeast Regional Office (SERO) responsibilities and goals. Manage and provide oversight to the Gulf Branch on implementing restoration of habitats supporting estuarine and marine fisheries including, but not limited to the Coastal Wetlands, Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act, the RESTORE Act, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and Natural Resource Damage Assessment efforts.
