Position Overview
The Project Development Manager will lead the development of solar and solar storage energy projects in the United States, with an initial focus on existing projects in the PJM market.
Key Responsibilities
• Advance existing solar energy projects to Notice to Proceed by coordinating and managing various vendors and internal staff throughout the life cycle of a solar project
• Conduct project site assessments to identify fatal flaws to be addressed early in the project life cycle in advance of significant development spend
• Develop competitive pricing strategies and manage resource assessment processes
• Coordinate landowner communication efforts
• Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits
• Represent the company with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders
• Assist in project budgeting and scheduling
• Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support
Requirements
• Proven ability to take utility-scale solar energy projects from early stage to NTP
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, time management, and oral and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work product
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing utility-scale solar projects in PJM
• 5+ years solar development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Project Management Professional certification
