DescriptionAs a member of the Solar Advisory team, you will play a key role in executing Independent Engineering and Technical Advisory assessments for solar project financing and evaluations for project acquisitions, supporting technology evaluations, contracts reviews, permitting assessment, BESS projects review for projects across various development stages and transaction types.
This role operates under the guidance of the Solar and Storage Advisory Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality independent engineering services.
Responsibilities
- Support the Solar and Storage Advisory team on the execution of Independent Engineer/Technical Advisory assessments, including technology assessments, design reviews (civil and electrical), and evaluations of CAPEX/OPEX, contracts, schedules, and permitting. Conduct site visits and monitor construction progress.
- Reporting Excellence: Compile comprehensive IE and TA reports, synthesizing technical and commercial insights into clear, actionable recommendations. Maintain exceptional quality to exceed client expectations.
- Project Management: Support to project management of high-profile solar projects,
- Work with internal resources, associate project managers, project managers, as well as sub-consultants. Ensure project deliverables stay on time, on target, and on budget.
- Support on the development of new procedures and processed in the team.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and propose effective mitigation strategies, leveraging best practices and lessons learned.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate efforts across internal teams, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working in the solar PV industry with experience on solar or energy storage due diligence, project development, construction, equipment supply, operations, or M&A.
- Technical background on engineering review, including detailed engineering review for PV projects and storage projects, including civil and electrical designs.
- Construction background, including quality control, commissioning tests and project acceptance procedures supervision will be a plus.
- Utility-Scale Solar Projects: Demonstrated experience with the design, development, and review of utility-scale solar PV projects, including PV modules, inverters, trackers, and other Balance of System (BOS) components.
- Good understanding on typical KPIs for solar PV and storage high-level understanding of energy modelling for solar PV projects.
- Knowledge on MEA region regulation, such as permitting, grid connection processes or electricity markets would be highly considered.
- At least bachelors-level education and core competence in a relevant field, e.g., mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, or environmental engineering.
- Master in Renewable Energy related aspects.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environmental and successfully manage multiple complicated projects.
