JOB SUMMARY: These positions are located in the Inventory and Monitoring Division, in the Northern Colorado Plateau Network The purpose of the position is to perform uncomplicated technical biological science tasks common to natural resource management. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for the Northern Colorado Plateau Network is April, but can be variable due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 7, 2025. MAJOR DUTIES: The major duties of the Biological Science Technician position include, but are not limited to, the following: Collecting plant, soil, and geomorphology data using established network monitoring protocols. Accurately identifying vegetation to the species level in the field or office using standard floras. Conducting fieldwork in remote backcountry settings and under difficult conditions in a safe and efficient manner. Entering data and following quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate data transcription into established databases. Maintaining field and camping equipment.
