JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, in the Facilities Maintenance Division. This is a permanent Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Duties: As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Utilizes a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds. Performs minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures. Performs minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters. Constructs, installs, repairs and replaces such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets. Performs routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed. Receives, unloads and processes incoming shipments according to established procedures, and reports discrepancies and damages to others responsible for such items. Performs other duties such as painting, masonry work, roofing, welding, or assisting higher grade workers with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.
