JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Biological Science Technician, GS- 0404-5, working in Williamstown, WV, for the R5 Lower Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. This is a term position expected to last 13 months but may be extended up to a total of 4 years at management's discretion. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Biological Science Technician your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist the Ohio River Invasive Carp program in the survey and study of invasive carp (silver, bighead, grass, and black) populations in the Ohio River drainage. Assist field crews using fisheries gear such as electrofishing, fyke and gill nets, surface trawls, sein nets, electrified dozer trawls, and other various gear types. Collect, process, and organize field samples. Work successfully with partner agencies. Assist with gear and equipment cleaning, maintenance, repair, and winter/ long term storage. Complete administrative duties, such as submitting vehicle and travel purchase card statements, time sheets and training records.
