JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS), Business Management Division, Facilities Branch, with one vacancy in Seldovia, AK. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Conduct data gathering, root cause analysis, consultations and communicate facility operations. Provide recommendations and/or develop implementation plans to improve overall facility effectiveness. Assist in the implementation of recommended changes, corrective action plans and milestones. Coordinate regularly with the facility manager and lab director on facility projects, including plumbing, electrical, elevators, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and other critical systems. Resolve customer problems pertaining to various aspects of facilities management. Collect, assist and/or develop annual/recurring facilities contract requirements, prepare cost estimates, and represent the facility in the acquisition process. Coordinate work with Safety and Environmental Compliance officers to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulations and conduct safety checks and walk through inspections.
