JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Obed Wild and Scenic River, in the Division of Interpretation & Education. MAJOR DUTIES: Presents curricula-based education programs in accordance with NPS policy in support of park mission, purpose, and significance. Programs are presented both on and off-site and are relevant to park interpretive themes. Programs presented are preplanned and conform to appropriate state and national teaching standards. Incumbent has latitude to adapt programs to meet changing park priorities or to support changes in state or national standards. Assists with the development and evaluation of curriculum-based school programs which are relevant to park interpretive themes and conform to appropriate state and national teaching standards. Communicates directly with teachers, school administrators, and other educators to plan and schedule all on-site and outreach classes related to the curriculum-based school programs. Assists the Wartburg Park Rangers in ensuring that tasks associated with the operations of front-line information centers are completed so that supplies, materials, and other support items are available daily. Responsibilities include staffing Visitor Center/Information Desk as assigned; assisting in updating exhibits; and maintaining the park's bulletin boards.
