Senior Training Engineer
As Senior Engineering Trainer, when you join a world leader in wind energy, you have the chance to make a real impact, delivering a range of technical training across all ScottishPower business areas which ensure training activities are carried out to a high level, in terms of both quality and safety, whilst ensuring low cost and best value for the business.
Day to day, you’ll lead the delivery of craft skills and authorisation training, particularly within SP Energy Networks. Your skills will help deliver craft training, developing new members of staff as well as up-skill existing staff, delivering technical training requirements for external customers and ScottishPower contractors to external and industry recognised standards. We’ll expect you to have skills, knowledge and expertise gained in a technical training role with an understanding of the various assessment criteria and procedures within the awarding body standards.
Importantly you’ll hold practical knowledge, be experienced as a trainer and as a Senior Authorised Person to fully understand technical training needs analysis, how to develop training plans and conduct training delivery and evaluations, ensuring we are delivering post training courses within our remit and meet learner needs.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support in relation to all technical training needs analysis, development of training plans, training delivery and evaluation for internal and external customers, you will be required to consultant and support the business regarding business specific products and training to deploy across the full spectrum of engineering skills.
Supporting the design, development and delivery of operational safety programmes to meet the stringent requirement of each individual, you will continually monitor and review all training delivery methods to ensure quality and compliance with standards, ensuring training objectives are achieved.
Promoting and supporting a learning environment, you will ensure the effective utilisation of the varied training/learning solutions available such as traditional classroom, e-learning, project work and distance learning.
What you’ll bring
With demonstrable experience as a Senior Authorised Person, you will possess knowledge, understanding and ability to deliver multiple Electrical/Mechanical technical courses to a wide range of staff required to work safely within the electricity supply industry.
Displaying knowledge and practical skill to deliver training whilst assessing technical members of staff to ScottishPower company standards, you will need to hold a full driving licence there is a requirement to travel to additional ScottishPower sites to deliver training.
