Battery Sorting Supervisor

Position Summary:
Oversees warehouse sort operations at facility including shipping and receiving of battery and non-battery materials found within inbound orders, organizing and maintaining inventory, and supervising the day to day activities of warehouse staff. Responsible for shipping and receiving materials within plant. Categorizes batteries based on various criteria, ensuring high level accuracy for recycling. Operates industrial powered lift equipment.

Essential Functions:
Establishes and maintains operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, and handling and disposition of materials.
Provides training to categorize batteries based on type, size, and condition.
Provides training to identify and separate rechargeable batteries, single use batteries, and other specialized batteries.
Inspect batteries for damage, leaks, or signs of corrosion.
Responsible for packaging and preparation of sorted batteries for transportation or recycling according to federal and safety guidelines and standards.
Provides training to record relevant information such as battery type, quantity, and condition.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and division of tasks.

Provide training for understanding warehouse storage system and products.
Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection.
Operates and provides training of powered lift equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Prepares and conducts annual performance evaluations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
Experience with Inventory Management Systems and RF scanners preferred.

Hi-Lo experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees day-to-day activities of battery warehouse staff.
