The Vermont Department of Labor (VDOL) provides labor-related services for the unemployed, employed, and employers. VDOL enforces wage and hour laws and worker's compensation insurance for those with jobs. Employers may receive assistance filling open positions at the same VDOL resource centers that aid job seekers. For Vermonters as a whole, VDOL compiles reports on the state's labor situation that includes data about job gains and losses and the unemployment rate.
