Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on experienced EHS professional who will lead our global Environmental, Health, and Safety function and also our ESG efforts globally. For EHS, the incumbent will continue to develop and improve our safety culture to maintain our industry leading TRR rates and support while , ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The incumbent will also oversee permit management, waste minimization programs, and compliance audits, while providing technical guidance on regulatory issues and supporting local safety programs globally. For ESG, the incumbent will be responsible for managing our 3 year ESG roadmap and partnering with all functions to drive sustained improvements in our ESG practices. We have been certified as Ecovadis Silver over the past two years and the incumbent will work to maintain or improve upon this certification. Additionally, the manager ensures employee training compliance, leads continuous improvement projects, and guides emergency response efforts to enhance operational efficiency and maintain a safe, compliant work environment. Position Responsibilities: Leadership, Strategy, and Compliance Provides leadership and collaborates with management in the implementation of Company EH&S and ESG policies, standards, and training requirements. Evaluates safety, occupational health, and environmental areas of business operations. Manages ESG roadmap and our plans to maintain Ecovadis Sliver. Interact regularly with executive leadership and third party representatives. Leads, directs, and supports the local EH&S champion in each country to ensure the organization’s EH&S strategy is implemented effectively and complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Provides direction to plant management in the development and implementation of proactive safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity management practices to facilitate improvements, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. Provides technical guidance and expertise towards ensuring the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local (including other countries) laws dealing with safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity issues. Advises appropriate personnel of the latest technical and regulatory developments. Works with and advises operating managers regarding investigations and the identification of corrective measures used to achieve compliance in safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity. Leads or participates in the investigative review of incidents to determine root causes and recommends necessary preventative or corrective measures. Provides leadership in emergency response efforts, emergency response training drills, and the development of emergency response plans. Environmental Management and Compliance Applies for and maintains all pertinent operating permits and authorizations, including Fire Department, Air Quality, Transportation, Environmental, Storm Water, Waste, and Waste Water. Provides renewal applications in a timely manner to ensure there is no lapse in approval, authorization, or permit. Design, oversee, and physically participate in waste and emissions minimization programs to comply with corporate policy and environmental regulations. Assesses the economics of waste minimization alternatives and recommends preferred actions to plant management. Coordinates and conducts health, safety, and environmental audits to review compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Oversee company and third-party projects, review plans, and new equipment to determine if safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity control considerations are adequate and conform to specifications, standards, and corporate policy. ESG Create strategies with functional leaders that integrate ESG criteria into a company's business strategy. They also develop and implement programs to reduce ESG risks and environmental impacts Manage our three year ESG Roadmap. Partner with functional leaders to capture and improve on ESG performance Responsible for releasing our annual sustainability report. Responsible for annual Ecovadis submission and maintaining current certification level Partner with third party vendors Training, Continuous Improvement, and Performance Monitoring Work with local EH&S leaders to ensure all employees are current with training requirements, responsible for retention of training records, and provides notice to personnel of recurrent training prior to expiration to ensure continuity of business operations. Design and manage continuous improvement site and divisional projects, including Six Sigma projects, and lead improvement teams across all sites. Requirements: Bachelor degree in Safety Sciences, Environmental Science or related field with eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible experience in an environmental, health and safety or operations management role; Master’s degree is preferred Experience working in a factory or factory setting Demonstrated track record of implementing effective EHS programs and processes Working knowledge of ESG and EHS industry trends Professional certification as a Certified Safety Professional is highly preferred Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Company EH&S related regulations and procedures. Knowledge of applicable global EH&S related regulations and procedure preferred. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving, and human relations skills. Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity suites currently in use by the company. Ability to Travel Internationally. Travel is approximately 30% of the time
