Position: Health and Safety and Environment Officer
Location: Tema
Reports to: SHE Manager
Qualification: BSc/ professional qualification in occupational health and safety and
environment, environmental science, Natural Science or any other relevant degree
Experience: A minimum of 3years working experience in similar position in a manufacturing
set-up

ACCOUNTABILITY

 Identify and implement measures appropriate to eliminate/minimise risk
 ENSURE ALL incident/accident, near misses or property damages are
investigated and the appropriate reports are made available to the SHE
Manager within the stipulated time.
 Track safety key performance indicators (KPI) identifying the trends
and propose measures to address the factors contributing to the
trends.
 Champion safety and ensure that it becomes part of PFC culture
 Liaise with the appropriate agencies on environmental and safety
issues.
 monitor compliance with regulatory limits on release of substances
,which may harm the environment
 Liaise with production / departments to ensure good housekeeping
standards and cleanliness.
 Supervise/coordinate EHS training activities in conjunction with hr
department.
 Ensure complete compliance to company and statutory rules and
regulations regarding EHS
 Ensure “persis” are in place and conducted within the given time frame.
 To act on all jobs assigned by the SHE Manager or as directed

5. Competencies

 A university graduate in Environmental Health and Safety
engineering, environmental science, natural sciences or mathematics.
 Knowledge in EHS in a manufacturing environment strongly
recommended.
 Strong leadership ability, dynamic and sensitive to personnel issues.
 Must be capable of handling complexities and legalities.
 Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
 Computer literate; at least working knowledge of MS Word /Excel and
PowerPoint.
