The Manager of Workforce and Equity Initiatives position is a strategic, analytical, and people-centric role that requires a commitment to equity and the ability to apply an equity lens to strengthen internal and external processes. The candidate will support broad engagement with stakeholders, particularly those stakeholders involved with workforce development at the national, regional, tribal, state, and local levels, including government agencies, tribal organizations, industry representatives, manufacturers, non-profit organizations, and advocacy groups. Other responsibilities include workforce development and/or equity program management, market assessments, and strategy and plan formulation. This role will assist and lead the development of other related training opportunities and events, including those that help strengthen equity and belonging within SEIA’s organizational culture. The Manager of Workforce and Equity Initiatives reports directly to the VP of Equity and Workforce Development.Core Duties & Responsibilities:Equity and Workforce Stakeholder Engagement (and Promotion of equity values within the industry and of solar+storage workforce opportunities Cultivate and maintain relationships with SEIA members and key external stakeholders, including education and training institutions, industry-related DEIJ-focused organizations, and other workforce pipeline organizations ;Manage and facilitate member and stakeholder, committees and working groups that support department needs ;Work with stakeholders and members through the development and execution of events, job fairs and other gatherings to connect employers to job seekers and diverse suppliers to contract/partnership opportunities ;Represent SEIA as the workforce and equity representative at designated events, conferences, meetings and workshopsCross-Team Coordination and Partnership ;Work collaboratively and strategically with SEIA’s policy, regulatory, research, membership, communications, events and other teams to advance workforce development and equity prioritiesProvide workforce data support in coordination with SEIA’s research team and outside researchers as needed. Identify tracking needs associated with SEIA’s roles in labor provision guidance and tracking for Inflation Reduction Act implementationDevelopment and Management of Projects, Initiatives, and resources. Develop and lead projects and initiatives that assist SEIA members in attracting, recruiting, training, and retaining a diverse-at-all-levels solar + storage workforceGather labor market information, talent demand, and skills requirements and translate data into meaningful information to create workforce development strategies. ;
