The Opportunity

Are you an expert in environmental approaches and policies within a business?

This role would give you the chance to use those skills and knowledge within an environment that is truly committed to sustainability. If you want to see what we are already doing as a business then take a look at our website as we lead the way in key areas of energy sustainability, green logistics and repurposing food waste amongst other initiatives. Now is your opportunity to come into our business and help us to continue to do more. Using your knowledge and influencing skills we want you to get consistency and best practice in place across our Bradgate Bakery sites based in Beaumont Leys, Leicester. There is a lot of potential here for the function to grow and we also have Group level opportunities for future progression.

Develop and implement a site environmental strategy which will include compliance processes and procedures, facilitating discussion at a senior level through the SHE Manager so that key targets are met.
Use your influencing skills to develop the knowledge of managers and support them to continue to drive the key outputs of the Bradgate Environmental Management System to support ISO 14001
Work collaboratively with the SHE Manager to grow a positive environmental culture through awareness building, training and coaching.
Work with the SHE Manager to manage local relationships with the Environment Agency, Customers, Local Community and wider Group.
Identify new ideas and opportunities for the SHE Manager and Site Management Team to deliver on key projects to improve risk ratings and cost efficiency whilst delivering on environmental targets.

Previous Environmental experience ideally gained within a manufacturing environment but other backgrounds considered
Experience of being involved in ISO 14001 verification audits
Up to date knowledge of Environmental legislation
Experience in report writing and building in an understanding of basic budget/financial information
Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
