Unifying the diversified interests of more than 300 member companies in 35 countries EDANA is a dynamic, international trade association, which represents, protects and promotes the common interests of nonwovens and their related industries. Nonwovens are engineered, versatile, always evolving materials that are found in a variety of products improving the daily life experience of many. Nonwovens are used in a diverse range of applications from hygiene to geosynthetics, filtration, agriculture, automotive, medical, garments and electronics.

EDANA is Europe based, but has a global outlook and aspires to provide leadership to create an environment that supports innovation, and the sustainable and profitable growth of the industry. EDANA leads the dialogue on sustainable nonwovens by advocating the industry’s needs, as well as guiding and supporting its members to integrate sustainability into their activities for a positive societal impact, by increasing sustainable value chain, climate action and circular solutions.

As the Public Affairs Director, you will report to the General Manager and work with an international, dynamic and multi-disciplinary team including Regulatory, Technical and Marketing and Communications experts.

You will be responsible for leading the Association’s sustainability, EU public affairs and stakeholder relation activities. To this end, your responsibilities will include:

Shaping and leading the implementation of EDANA’s Sustainability Vision in coordination and with the full support of the management, the Board of Governors and the member companies;
Establishing and strengthening the dialogue with stakeholders in the key EU Institutions, and elsewhere;
Coordinating advocacy efforts with industry and partner associations.
Leading and coordinating projects with a network of member companies through Working Groups and other regional groups;
Managing relevant workshops, meetings, expert panels and training sessions with the support of the team;
Supervising a team of 2 managers - one dedicated to sustainability issues and the other to public affairs, as well as 3 national experts located in Spain, Germany and the UK;
Supervising the monitoring of relevant sources of information, assessing potential impact on industry and guiding members;
Acting as a coordinator between the Association and external consultants on projects such as impact assessment studies and writing position papers, as well as the dissemination thereof;
