About Us
Raymarine endeavors to keep boaters well apprised of their surroundings in the meantime. The company makes modern marine electronics that allow would-be sailors to find fish with fish finders, avoid storms and obstacles with radar, determine their exact position with Global Positioning System (GPS) sensors and chartplotters, steer while hanging over the rail with autopilots, avoid reefs and shoals with depth finders, and communicate using VHF radios. Raymarine was formed in 2001 from a management buyout of Raytheon's marine business. The company was acquired by commercial and military imaging products maker FLIR Systems in 2010.
