PLANT ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste, and Water Resources.This will include the training and supervision of staff, mtc of facility, housekeeping, safety and all regulatory compliance of the treatment facility.Successful applicants will Gather and submit all samples in compliance with EPA Regulations. Manager will insure that all documentation is in place and kept up to date per JBS Policy and Local, State and Federal Agencies. Must be willing to relocate to any location listed!

Main Responsibilities:

Manage Wastewater Department
Supervise Wastewater personnel
Train personnel in bestpractices for keeping water in compliance with City and State requirements
Keep accurate records andensure all documentation is kept up to date and accurate
Take and submit water samples
Make sure all safety rules andrequirements are followed
Communicateeffectively with regulators on matters related to permitting, expansion and non-compliance issues.
Ensure that the plant maintains necessary environmental permits.
Investigate complaints.
Provide for environmental training for staff and division personnel.

Participate in the emergencyand chemical release reporting and response program.
Provide reports to management
Manage Utility’s, Water, Gas and Electric.
Report water usage daily.
Develop water saving projects and initiatives

Working Conditions:

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or similar field preferred.
Proven management skills.
Experience with environmental engineering.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance, wastewater treatment and air permitting programs.
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
Previous experience working with and appropriately handling confidential information.
Must be willing to relocate to any location listed.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or similar field preferred.
