We are seeking a high-calibre Environment Manager to join our Maryvale Paper Mill team. Reporting to the Head of Safety and Environment, this is a critical individual contributor role designed for a technical expert who thrives in the complexity of heavy industry.

In this role you will:

Act as the primary technical liaison with Authorities (including EPA Victoria and Gippsland Water). You will lead the charge on statutory reporting, including NGERS, NPI, and EPA Performance Statements
Oversee our comprehensive monitoring programs, including air quality, groundwater, landfill, noise, and odour
Keep our ISO 14001 EMS audit-ready and integrated into the daily rhythm of the mill
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents and identify proactive opportunities such as energy efficiency and odour reduction
Serve as a trusted advisor to people leaders, translating complex environmental data into actionable strategies for employees and contractors

What you’ll bring….

Whether you are a seasoned industry professional or a high-potential individual ready for a "step-up" role, we value:

A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline

An understanding of Victorian environmental legislation, regulatory licensing, and EMS frameworks
Experience in heavy industry or large-scale manufacturing. You aren't afraid to get out on-site and understand the process
The ability to spot a trend in the data before it becomes an issue
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence a diverse workforce
