Yet half of those losses were insured. Climate change has challenged the insurance, financial institutions, asset managers like never before. We cannot always stop natural hazards. But we can help prevent them from becoming disasters. And together we can contribute to greater climate resilience, climate equity, and a reduction of CO2 emissions. Mitiga is a spinoff of Spain’s National Supercomputing Center, which hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. As an impact-driven organisation, Mitiga is on a mission to make the world more resilient against natural hazards and climate extremes. We're on a mission to create the most reliable technology solutions to manage climate-induced risks with science, AI, and high-performing computing. We want to help prevent hazards from becoming disasters contributing to climate resilience, adaptation, and equity.
