About the Job Carbon project origination is at the core of what we do at Flow Carbon. We are looking for someone to join our team as we create opportunities for high impact projects. In this role, you will lead our carbon project development and help build our community of carbon project partners. Responsibilities * Lead Flow Carbon’s efforts to scope and originate carbon project development opportunities * Identify and pursue new carbon project opportunities leveraging your network and * Flow’s network of partners * Build and maintain relationships with conservation and other nonprofits as well as for-profit project proponents, developing a robust pipeline of qualified carbon project prospects * Establish a methodology to assess opportunities for viability and impact * Partner with finance teams to identify and structure opportunities * Guide relevant external communications * Manage our partnerships with certification bodies (i.e. Verra, American Carbon Registry) * Maintain deep knowledge of emerging global sustainability standards as they pertain to the voluntary carbon market, as well as consumer, competitive and macroeconomic trends Qualifications * 5+ years experience in the voluntary carbon market * Deep relationships with nonprofit and other project developers * Robust understanding of the VCM, carbon development, and project methodologies * Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, etc.), or equivalent professional experience * Experience at a nature/environmental non-profit preferred * Familiarity with carbon standard and methodologies, particularly Verra’s VCS program * Relationships with validation and verification bodies a plus * Motivated self-starter, with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively * Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail. Able to balance short term tactical work with long term strategy * Solutions-oriented, pragmatic thinker who is able to work towards business goals, and be comfortable with shifting priorities as needed * Outstanding project management skills with the ability to multi-task * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders * Passion, energy, and commitment to sustainability and creating climate solutions
