Position Overview<\/span>
<\/span><\/h3>

Keystone Environmentalâs Engineering Department has an immediate opening for a<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Project Engineer \/ Project Manager.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

The Engineering team is a multidisciplinary group of 28 professionals delivering diverse and technically complex projects across wastewater, solid waste management, stormwater systems, landfill engineering, remediation technologies, and related environmental infrastructure.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

The department serves a broad client base including municipalities, industrial organizations, developers, transportation agencies, and other public and private sector partners. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful environmental solutions while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and technically rigorous environment.<\/span>
<\/p>

Salary:<\/b> $90,000 \- $120,000<\/span>

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/b><\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

Conducting and\/or managing remedial option evaluations, treatment system upgrades, stormwater infrastructure, landfill closure techniques, and\/or infrastructure construction oversight.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Working on a design team for remedial systems, in\-situ chemical treatments for contaminated soil and groundwater, barrier walls, treatment plant upgrades, landfill covers, etc.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Travelling to sites to observe site conditions, oversee staff and contractors, and conduct field engineering reviews<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Preparing and\/or reviewing of monitoring reports, audit findings, technical reports, design briefs, specifications, tender documents, contracts, etc.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Being involved in project and budget controls, managing schedule, deliverables, and staffing for projects<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Making sound decisions and considers innovation for practical and economical project solutions.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Preparing and reviewing work plans, project designs, technical reports, and contract specifications for operational and capital upgrade projects.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Administrating and managing contracts<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Working with clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Often acts as a project leader and actively works to encourage teamwork, collaboration, and efficiency, supported by senior engineers.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> May supervise engineers and\/or technical staff. Conducting peer reviews on the work of colleagues. Acting as a resource to staff members for advice and guidance on potential approaches and problem situations.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li> Participating in the design, preparation and approval of engineering drawings and specifications in area of specialty.<\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>

The Successful Candidate will have:<\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>

5 to 8 years of experience with most areas described in the duties and responsibilities section listed above.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> A Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering discipline.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Experience working in environmental consulting or related industry experience<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> A P. Eng. Designation in British Columbia.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> The ability to interpret and apply environmental engineering principles, regulations, and technical guidelines to area of specialization.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize project components for small or large projects so as to provide timely deliverables requiring a high level of detail and accuracy.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an aptitude for engineering design and project management.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of multi\-disciplinary team to solve problems under circumstances that are complex and time sensitive. Demonstrated ability to work in a teamwork environment and deal effectively with disagreements and prevent the escalation of conflict.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> The ability to work under broad direction from senior engineers and use independent judgment to problem solve and evaluate options. Ability to identify opportunities and challenges to projects and raise them to a decision making level. Proven ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Effective time management and prioritization skills.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Interest and willingness to supervise, coach and mentor junior engineers, technical staff, and direct reports, as required.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> Proficiency using Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> A Valid BC Class 5 Driverâs license.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
