California State University San Marcos is a public university that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines, including arts and sciences, education, and business administration. It grants bachelor's and master's degrees as well as doctorates in education and teaching credentials. Campus enrollment is more than 9,200 students with faculty numbering about 650. The university is supported by the CSU San Marcos Foundation through grants and contracts administration, financial management, and commercial enterprises. The school was founded in 1989 as the first of a new generation of Cal State campuses.
