About Us

HudBay Minerals looks below the surface to find profits. The company focuses on the exploration and production of zinc and copper, primarily in Canada's Manitoba province. HudBay operates several mines, production plants, and refineries located in Manitoba, Ontario, and Michigan. In addition to zinc and copper, it also produces silver and gold. HudBay attempted to expand through an $800 million combination with Canadian mining company Lundin Mining in 2008, but the deal fell through. In 2011 HudBay acquired Norsemont Mining and its substantial Peruvian copper, gold, and silver holdings in a $525 million deal.
