Job Purpose:

The Sustainability Head is responsible for ABG-AM Sustainability and Regulatory strategy and develop initiatives to support this. The role includes influencing organizational culture by championing sustainability, regulatory compliance, driving innovation and encouraging continuous improvement.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the Advanced Material business fully integrates the issues associated with sustainability, regulatory and the environment into its operations. The role requires championing the green agenda with both internal and external stakeholders to create a more sustainable future. The incumbent is expected to advocate for sustainability and drive change in the business, while engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

The Sustainability Head will plan, develop, manage, and promote programs and policies related to environmental protection, sustainability and regulatory compliance. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, water use efficiency, solid waste management, energy conservation, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and other programs designed to achieve a balance. Coordinate activities with other Divisions, Departments, outside agencies, businesses. Motivating employees through various training and guiding units' teams to achieve overall excellence. The position shall help AM progress its ongoing commitment to becoming a more sustainable and socially responsible company.

Provide direction and support for significant environmental issues, and develop standards appropriate to the Advanced Material Business in order to help manufacturing units ensure that operations are conducted within Regulations and provide guidelines to the units for identifying key operational processes and put in place continual improvements for the identified processes.

The Sustainability Head coordinates the delivery of the corporate sustainability program and regulatory compliance and makes recommendations to AM leadership to execute strategies to enhance our approach to sustainability initiatives

Key Result Areas:
Evaluating AM's current strategies and processes to identify areas for sustainability and regulatory improvement	Track sustainability trends & practices inside as well as outside AM Track Regulatory compliance for all regions Identify & review environmental protection issues, LEED certification and product/process certifications Create and implement a sustainability framework of corporate policies, management and technical standards Implement digital tools for regulatory compliance management. Responsible for managing design of global projects (sustainability, environment, water & wastewater) for implementation across multiple units.
Unit level initiatives	Design & development of standards & policies to reduce environmental foot print. Setting up sustainability targets for all operating plants. Complete water, energy and waste balances for all operating plants. Value Engineering initiatives for the sustainability, water & wastewater. Developing Conceptual / Preliminary Engineering Packages (FEED). Evaluation of 'Sustainability' options for every project. Environment due diligence of existing set ups
To coordinate sustainability activities as planned and ensure effective implementation, across the AM Business.	To ensure sustainability related activity, coordination between Group Sustainability Cell (GSC) and unit team (Contributors / Validators) for its effective implementation. Ensure to send the monthly and quarterly information related to BRC and other information, as per the requirements of GSC Ensure regulatory compliance (Registration, SDS creation, Coordination with ORs) for all sites.
Training & development	Devise training programs for educating employees & workmen, through training and awareness programmes on Envinronment norms, sustainability, regulatory practices
Competitions and Awards	Participate in competitions at various levels. Encourage and guide teams to present their achievements and coordinate with external and internal forums for the same.
Compliance	Acts - Knowledge of various compliance acts – Environment Protection act 1986, Water (Prevention & Control Pollution), Air (Prevention & Control Pollution), Forests (Conservation) Rules – Environment protection rules, solid waste management, plastic waste management, E-waste management, Construction & demolition waste management, Fly Ash notifications Updated knowledge on technical and environmental issues such as discharges & air emissions, water and energy consumptions and climate change
