CGG ( www.cgg.com ) is a global technology and HPC leader that provides data, products, services and solutions in Earth science, data science, sensing and monitoring. Our unique portfolio supports our clients in efficiently and responsibly solving complex digital, energy transition, natural resource, environmental, and infrastructure challenges for a more sustainable future. We harness the unique capabilities of Earth observation data to address a diverse range of challenges faced by the energy, mining, engineering, environment and defense sectors. As a company, CGG are driven by science and are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible to understand and solve some of the world’s most complex natural resource challenges. In the Geoscience department, the InCube team is responsible for identifying, developing, and assessing innovative concepts. The internship will take place in this highly ground-breaking environment. It will be based in the CGG office in Llandudno (North Wales, UK), Crawley (South London, UK) or Massy (France). The internship will last four to six months (depending on candidate availability) and with a likely start date in May/June. It will develop your skills in advanced hydrothermal numerical simulation, whilst adapting a reservoir modelling tool to support a new concept for underground heat extraction in ultra-high temperature context. This internship will offer you an exciting and a dynamic work environment where you will work alongside our diverse group of experienced professionals based mainly in North Wales (Llandudno) and regular interactions with remote team members across the UK and France is expected. It will be supervised by Mariane Peter-Borie, Geothermal Technical Specialist, who has 14-years’ experience in numerical modelling in high temperature contexts
