Job Duties:

Working under the direction of the Ecological Project Manager, responsible for inspecting site activities for conformance with work plans that incorporate measures to protect habitats and ecosystems in accordance with legislative requirements. Study the natural world and ensure that human activities don’t harm the environment. Work with company’s multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies and solutions for challenging assignments. Essential duties:

Perform field-based environmental monitoring for project compliance.
Act as a key resource for a diverse set of environmental assessment and permitting projects.
Prepare environmental monitoring and mitigation plans.
Conduct research as required.
Ensure technical quality of work and field methods.
Assist in the preparation of technical data reports and regulatory approval and permitting applications.
Perform environmental sampling when required.
Assess compliance and report non-compliance events.
Provide field-level guidance on practical environmental protection to prevent or minimize project impacts.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Perform all other related duties as requested by the Ecological Project Manager.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.

Must have knowledge of the environmental laws and regulations and environmental compliance, as demonstrated by prior employment, certification, or coursework.
Must have the ability to prepare environmental compliance inspection reports and to gather and report on environmental data, as demonstrated by prior experience, internships, or coursework.

Must be willing to travel regionally (MA and CT) to client sites up to 15% of time.
